Lid and door professionally overhauled – quality that builds trust
A long-standing customer commissioned SBS Refractory Service with maintenance work on a furnace lid and a furnace door in the storage area. Both components showed operational wear that was impairing tightness and therefore the efficiency of the furnace. As a trusted partner of the customer, it went without saying that we would carry out the work promptly and with minimal interruption to operations.
Both the lid and the door had to be overhauled in a single assignment in order to minimise downtime

Our team arrived promptly and began by surveying both components. On the furnace lid, the worn areas of the refractory lining were identified and specifically repaired in order to restore thermal insulation and tightness.
On the furnace door, the damaged sections of the lining and the sealing faces were overhauled. Particular attention was paid to the correct seating of the door in order to ensure a complete seal and avoid heat losses through leaks.
All work was completed quickly, professionally and with the utmost care. The customer was able to put the furnace back into operation immediately after acceptance.
