Over 35 years of experience · In-house installation teams · 24/7 emergency service
Full project responsibility for your industrial furnace — from analysis to acceptance.
Checklists, tables and curves from our site practice — two pages each, print-ready. Plus the complete demolition and defence guides.
For over 35 years, we have worked with the biggest names in the steel, aluminium and chemical industries.

As your all-in-one partner, we take full responsibility — from the first site inspection to final documentation. No interfaces, no delays.

Load-bearing outer shell
The steel shell forms the structural envelope of the furnace. It absorbs all mechanical loads and defines the furnace geometry.
Thermal insulation layer
The insulation layer minimises heat loss to the outside and protects the steel shell from overheating. Critical for energy efficiency.
Permanent protective lining
The safety lining serves as a fallback level. If the inner layer wears down, it prevents breakthrough to the steel shell.
Working layer in the fire
The wear lining is in direct contact with the molten material. It is regularly renewed during relinings — the core business of SBS.
Four layers, one system — each one critical to the safety and service life of your furnace.

Relining of the combustion chamber of a biomass CHP plant with a moving grate: brickwork above the grate, monolithic lining above it, a stepped interlocking transition and secondary-air nozzles restored to the millimetre.

Follow-up assignment for a long-standing customer: the charging chute was completely relined monolithically – joint-free right into the arch zone.

Monolithic lining of a divider wall in the combustion chamber – a narrow, elongated component where every dimensional deviation changes the flow pattern.

Retrofitted external insulation on a chamber furnace – less heat loss through the furnace wall, more stable temperature control inside.

Refractory relining in the waste-to-energy plant of a major energy provider near Nuremberg – brickwork of the combustion chamber within the scheduled overhaul window.

An aluminium furnace went a year without maintenance. The result: heavy slag build-up, reduced charge capacity and a repair bill of over 100,000 euros.

Complete refractory lining of the furnace hood on an aluminium melting furnace – executed monolithically for dense, dimensionally stable surfaces.
